Since most of the people coming here are interested in coaster related games I figured I would set up a page of information abut real life coasters and parks. The first section is all about keeping up to date abut coaster related news and the second section is all abut references to real rides and coaters. This information and especially the pics can be very useful as a reference to what real rides and parks are like so you can create realistic rides and parks in game.
Coaster News
So you want to keep up to date with news in the amusement park industry here are some links to help you out.
The first place I would recommend going to is the news section at coaster-net.com link not only is the news up to date but they go in to more facts about history abut events then most sites do. Defiantly helps to give a full picture of what is really going on.
Another good site is the news over at thrillnetwork.com link
Now if your not only in to news but rumors also screamscape.com might be for you. But remember rumors do not always come true! So do not get your hops running high and always take things with some doubt.
Coaster References / Pics
If your going to be building a virtual ride or park as might as well know about real rides and parks. Here are some resources to get you going.
If coasters are what your after your best bet is to start off at Roller coaster data base which can be fount at rcdb.com. This site with out a doubt has the largest collection or both coaster facts and pictures from around the world.
Another god site for coasters is coastergallery.com . While this sites collection is much smaller then rcdb its unique in that all the pics have been taken by one person and they are all high quality photos.
Now what about if your interested in not only coaster but entire parks. coaster-net.com has not only has a ride gallery that covers many coaster and even some flat rides, but a park gallery. One thing that makes their gallery stand out is the amount of reading material they have about cretin rides and parks.
Another site that has a decent ride and park gallery is thrillnetwork.com
Also an interesting site to check out is themeparkreview.com which has quite an interesting way of displaying parks from around the world. Caution a sense of humor is needed to view this site.
While this site will not lock out other web browsers it is designed for Fire Fox. It also is designed to be used with a screen over 600X800 and makes use of png transparency, which Internet Explorer 6 does not support.
