Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays!

Well I have been able to work on this site quite a bit lately, not that college is out, and many projects are going full steam ahead!

They have been numerous bug fixes and improvements around the site. If you saw a bug take a look it might be fixed. If not post up the bug and I will go ahead and fix it ;)

There is now a new video section! It can be fount under my stuff on the menu, go take a look ;) The first video in the section is an almost 19 min long video from an air show I attended at Jones beach, on sunday, of memorial day weekend 09. The show was awesome! and I think the video came out quite well, make sure to go take a look :) Link to video

I add Cooliris support to all gallery pages on my site. If you do not already have Coolliris head on to there site and get it. It's a free program that will revolutionize the way you view pictures on the web. cooliris.com

I have also add a media rss feed for my pictures. Link

If you have not taken a look at the picture gallery lately go take a look. I have add quite a bit.

I also have a loot of new content and features coming to the photo galleries. I am working on adding support for the cooliris embedded wall, and adding a image tagging system, to give better ways to sort out the pictures in the gallery.

So keep an eye out for allot of new updates this summer to CSF On the Web :)

Due to school I have not had allot of time to work on the site lately. Also most of the work I have been doing has been doing deals with code the user wont see but will make the site a lot easer to update. Which will help me roll out the updates I have planed once the coding is complete

There are some recent changes you might have noticed.

  • Fixed bug of the header displaying in correctly in Safari
  • Fixed bug of forum site intgration were debug code will come out on the tp of the page
  • Added a new feature to the forum and the picture gallery were if you window size is small it will stop content from overlapping.
  • One area I plan to add allot of content to is the photo gallery. I will also be adding support for Cooliris. If you have not heard of or tried Cooliris I would highly recommend giving it a try. It's a great program and completely free

I have noticed that the forum had been getting hit with allot of spam bots lately. Just ignore them. I try to come around at least once a day to check on the forum and clear out any spam I find.

We have been down on and off for about the last 3 days. Unfortunately the main Hard Drive on the server this site is hosted on failed. But we are back up and running.

There are also some new updates around the site. The link on the header image has been changed to the new home page and the forum login has been updated.

There is also a new section for Roller Coaster History. Just scroll over coasters on the navigation bar and click on roller coaster history. I Originally wrote it as a paper for school about a year ago and have decided to put it up on my site. I know that a lot of people coming here have some type of interest in coaster and would find it interesting.

While the server was down I spent some time playing RCT3 so expect some updates on Lands of Adventures to be coming to the site soon :)

    Comments (0) Topic Views (94)

Now that I have more time to write up exactly what has been done, here is a list of updates.

  • Forum updated to phpbb 3.0.4
  • New sections added to forum to allow for a larger area of discussion
  • New skin on the forum to match the site (this is stile a work in progress)
  • All pages are now converted to the new look of V3
  • The about page, RCT3 page and the TPB3D page has been updated
  • While this site has been designed from the start to be high resolution (especially a wide screen), this really effects the forum now. I will be adding in some options In the user control panel for people with smaller screen size. The resign for this is that while it might fix the problem for small screens it will take away from people that have large screen size (talking in terms of with resolution).

You will have to be registered on the forum to use the new features once they come live. Registration is free. This method will also help to make sure your settings stay consistent between visits.

There will also be a lot of new content coming to the site. So look forwards to a bunch of new updates and lets tray to get this community kicking!

Well the semester is over, so now I have time to start working on the site again. Expect to see quite a few updates in the up coming month.

    My to do list includes

  • General updates to the new look
  • Finish converting all pages to the new look
  • Update some pages
  • Get up the page on roller coaster history
  • Update the forum
  • Make at least a temporary forum skin
  • Finish updating the photo gallery
  • Put up some blogs I have been meaning to put up
  • Put up a few community news items
  • Add pictures to the gallery
  • Update back end code to make updating the site easier
  • Now to kick off the list, the first update is up. I have added a picture viewer and a link generator to the picture gallery. Go to any picture in the gallery and there are buttons under the pictures.

Now these items are stile considered in beta versions. While I think I got most of the bugs out there might be some remaining. If you find any bugs with them post about them in the news topic so they can be taken care of. Also if you find any other bugs with the site fell free to report them.

Hope you enjoy the new features and are looking forwards to the new updates :)

Welcome the beginning of CSF On The Web V3.

About a month ago, while working on updates and new features for V2, it hit me that for various reasons maybe it was time for an overhaul of the entire site. Which brought about the beginning of V3.

Along with V3 there are some changes you might notice besides the new look. The nav bar has been redone to make navigating the site easer, or so I hope. I have added a blog and a picture gallery which some of you might or might not have seen links to it. Also a new section about real life coasters has been added, which is completely new. A new user control panel is being designed, currently there is a link to it in the nav bar but there are currently no options.

Over the next few days to weeks the entire site will be updated to V3 along with other new features I have been working on.

So for any of you wondering if this site is dead, fear not it is far from it! I have just been working quietly on it, along with various other web projects I am involved in.

If you are reading this update on a V2 page of the site, the new look / new home page can be fount here.

    New blog section.

I have had the idea of adding a blog for a while I was waiting to make it go live until I got all the bugs out of the changes I have been working on for the site. But I decided not to wait any longer.

    It can be fount here.

I know its been a while since the last update so I figured I would let you know what I am up to. The menus are being completely redone. The way the User CP is changing and at least three new sections on on the way along with updates to quite a few other sections. One new section that is working but not finished is a picture gallery. Fell free to take a look at it here. Also don't for get you can submit community news here.

Updates are going to be a become slower, but the main resign for that is I am working on a lot of new features / sections and updates. So just know that while updates might be quite I am working away quietly on many new site updates.

I do have two small updates though. I updated the my projects page to reflect my new glass set 1 and my upcoming glass set 2. I also updated to No Limits page to provide for alternate Doweled Links for the gravimetricstudios No Limit utilities.

There are two new updates around the site. First the nav bar has been updated to hopefully allow for easer navigation around the site and now all pages should have the same headers and footers. The second update is the news system has been updated again this time to pull information about the news topic on to the news pages.

    Comments (0) Topic Views (205)

The forums have been updated to phpbb3 they appear to working correctly and have been reopened to the public. I did do a quick skin to help make it match the rest of the site. It is not perfect though yet. I will be working on improving the skin and customizing it more, but figured that for now its good enough to reopen. If you notice any problems with the forum let me know.

RSS feeds have now been added both the site news and community news sections of the site. Just click on the orange rss button next to a news title to view the feed.

Also the header and footers have been updated to make for quicker updating. And the site logo now links back to the main page of the csf pages. Only thing is not all the ages headers have yet to be updated. They will be soon though.

The next major update I will be doing in the next few days is converting the forum from phpbb2 to phpbb3. So there might be some forum down time.

The site news has been updated to now pull from a database witch allows for much nicer news set up, and will allow for more features down the road. It also makes the site easer for me to update, witch means more time to work on new features and content. With this I am now calling the site version 2.A.1.

    Comments (0) Topic Views (229)

Well the site has all been converted to the new look and along with that there has been many updates. The about page has been updated to reflect changes in V2.A. The new page has been updated. The My Projects page has been updated to reflect my new scenery set. The TPB3D page has been updated to reflect what's going on in the project. The No Limit pages has also been updated to reflect what's been going on with it. Also the news header, fount in the user CP is now working correctly.

I have noticed one glitch some times a page does not load the user CP panel settings from one page to the next. I have yet to track it down for sure but it appears to be working correctly, why the settings don't take affect I am not sure. One thing I have noticed though is that if a page does not work right just copy the address from the url bar, go to another web page and past the adrees in to the url bar and hit enter. That should make it wok correctly.

Welcome to the unveiling of the all-new look of csfontheweb.com. This has been in the works for a quite a few months and its finally ready to go live. All the pages around the site will be converted to the new look.

There is a user control panel that can be accessed from under the nav bar. Just click show. It will appear on the side and give you a few options to customize how the page appears.

The version is called V2.A, while A usually stand for alpha and I guess you could call this an alpha version since it is the first public release. The reason I called it that was because I stile have more ideas in mind for V2 but I figured it was time to start using the new look since it is currently in a usable state. Not because there are bugs yet that need to fix. There could be bugs though I am not saying its perfect. If you believe you fount a bug fell free to report it.

While the new look does work in Internet Explore I do recommend using it in Fire Fox or Safari, it does work better in nicer in them.

I hope every one enjoys the new look, there is definitely a lot more in the works for csfontheweb.com.

First update is the forum are now despamed and measures have been taken place to prevent future spaming. Thanks to this update goes out to CoasterBGW how set up my forum with Anti Bot Question MOD and deleted all the spam boot accounts yesterday after I mentioned to him my spam bot problem, so far the system has stopped at least 5 bots (as of when I put up this update). So hopefully the spam bot problom will now be no more.

I have also updated the my projects page to reflect the RCT3 projects I have been working on.

Well this is't as much a site update, but more of an update of what I have been up to. One of the admins at coaster net stepped down and I was chosen to replace him, which I was more then honored to do so. This has meant though that during this transition that I have been spending more time at coaster net and most of my other projects including this site and my RCT3 projects have been put on the back burner. But as things slow down I am going to be going back to those projects don't worry.

There are two small updates though with the news page being back up to date and some IE fixes on the home page.

The navigation bar has now been updated to allow the you, the user some options. There are five deferent color schemes to chose from so play around and find your favorite. To change your color scheme just select the option from the menu under the navigation bar.

The other update is that the news section is bake, my mistake with switching the navigation bar and now has archived news on it. I have decided to only have the last five updates on the home age.

Also the headings on the one page have been re done to match the rest of the site.
