So some of you might be wondering what Them Park Builder 3D is. TPB3D is an open source theme park game in the works led up by a lot of members of the RCT community.
Some of you might remember Coaster Madness, which was the community first attempt at an open source game, which was being lead by Ken Allen a senior producer for Atari on the RCT3 series. Well when that project suddenly stopped the community reformed to work on a new open source game called TPB3D.
Right now the game is in the development process, basically the game ideas are being formulated and coming together. While coders are probably the people most need at this time that does not mean you have to be a coder to help out. We are also looking for graphic and 3D artiest to make all the content and graphics for the game. Even if you don’t have any computer skills there is stile plenty you can do to help. We are constantly looking for people to make suggestions on what they think this game should include and how things should be done.
So If you are interested in helping out or just seeing what this is all about remember to visit TPB3D official site at www.tpb3d.net
Getting started
Since we realized that if you’re new to the TPB3D project it is probably a bit confusing to figure out what is going on with the project. So two new sections have been added to the TPB3D forum to help new users get filmier with the project.
Here is the section to find out about all the happenings in the TPB3D projects.

Game development has been coming along nicely. The flat ride creator is due to have some forum of an alpha version in the first ½ of 2009. After that we expect the speed and size of the community to rapidly grow. The Future will be ours!

Progress has moved along quit a lot. A bunch of new talented people have joined in helping the project. Many more flight rides and other modules have know been made, but there is stile a lot more that needs to be done.
One of the biggest accomplishments though, that’s on the verge of completion is the base code. Cook (the cook from RCT3 custom scenery) has been working on creating a completely custom base code to run the game and says its should be done in a month or so. Once this is complete other coders can start helping out and progress should really start moving.

Currently the game infrastructure is being coded and 3d molders are begging to experiment with modeling flat rides.
How you can help
While any one can help out at any time with any part of this project31 this will be a call out section for people most need at the time for the project.

Basically at this point any one is welcome to the team. As the flat ride creator nears completion there is going to be an increase need for, programmers, 3D modelers, Graphic artist, and web designers. We are always looking for new people with talents they can bring to the team.
7/7/07
We have quite a few programmers working on the team but one thing we need is a Mac programmer since we want this game to run on PC, Mac, and Linux.
While this site will not lock out other web browsers it is designed for Fire Fox. It also is designed to be used with a screen over 600X800 and makes use of png transparency, which Internet Explorer 6 does not support.
